Submission vs Obedience

Should the church have stood against the governments about the lockdowns?

The governments made services stop, they stopped church services at the same time they closed schools and most businesses.

I know there’s a pandemic out there and all of that, no one is trying to downplay this devastating scenario. But we’re believers, right? Are we demonstrating Word approved conduct?

People are throwing around scriptures, “submit to authority and all because authority is God-given”, we can all agree this God has worse taste than most humans. I don’t think this is God’s best, it’s clear. That’s done.

The same untrustworthy ungodly corrupt people are telling us that going to church risking your life. A virus has closed the church that believes in a God that specifically is identified as their Saviour, of all things He categorically addressed sicknesses. Not in his acceptance speech, No! His whole job is Saving and Healing. That’s what He specialises in.

Something is wrong with this picture.

Are we supposed to bow down to authority when it goes this far? Besides our constitutional rights, we are never supposed to stop communing with each other. It’s incredibly important for our spiritual health. That’s what the Bible says.

And who taught us to act the way we’re acting?

Is there scripture for such a time like this? Tons upon tons of verses address this.

Some might not want to know this but Psalms 91 is part of the Bible. The reason why the church is rolling over for the unbelieving world is that it doesn’t believe in healing.

The most disturbing thing is we’re calling our God a liar, if that’s true then we have no business believing anything He ever says.

It infuriates me to see unbelievers and in some cases evil people telling us to shorten our services while people are visiting restaurants, bars, attending political rallies etc for hours on end.

Should we obey governments whilst going against the Word and Spiritual Facts?

I don’t buy the idea that the church is being obedient, this is just cowardly and is evidence of what we believe. We know Jesus can’t keep us safe. He’s a joke. Covid is real, the cross is a hoax and the Word, folklore.

What did Daniel do when he was in a scenario much worse than ours… He wasn’t just risking a probable chance of dying, this guy was promised death, and that by someone who was well capable to keep his promise, guess what he did. He went on as if nothing happened, then what? God saved Him.

The guy could have prayed with his windows shut but he opened them wide. And prayed three times a day. He knew that his life was secure and no one could pluck him out of his Father’s hands. Peter and the early church could not be silenced even by death threats. Look at it for yourself.

But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. ~Acts 4:19

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. ~Acts 5:29

The church is accepting all this because it has considered itself susceptible to sicknesses. We see the sense in being paranoid, cautious, scared and not assembling in church. Be that as it may, the truth is we are not in the same boat as unbelievers, no matter what we experience. Our God is no liar.

Some like us that came before us would have turned this whole thing into an evangelical advantage for the church. Making the Body of Christ the most sought after thing in the universe for the power it wields, the solutions it provides and the safety it assures.

I wonder how we will ever get back to saying God is our Healer and the diseases of Egypt cannot come to us. The world will laugh at us. They despise us because we don’t mean even half of what we profess. They’ll call us hypocrites and can we blame them?

They won’t call us obedient. Never.

There is a Godly Disobedience and this is in submission to God. Let it be noted that this has nothing to do with protests, those are ungodly.

Some of us trust non-believing leaders to inform our actions instead of the Word and Holy Spirit. Whose followers are we? Are we obeying God? Are we submitting to God?
