Why?

Why did I start this blog? Around last year April 2020, the alleged fateful year, I landed on something powerful that has proved to change my life.

Our Country has never had proper lockdowns but we’ve implemented cessation of movement measures between counties, no intercounty movements in short. With this new rule, I couldn’t travel to my church. So we started a fellowship with my roommates and invited some friends over.

With this and the mandatory wearing of masks, the stage was set for my life to change. One Sunday in April, as we were praying, I was deep in the Spirit, speaking with my Father. I was praying about the sudden change of events that was infringing on my right to worship. I can’t say I was very comfortable with the new changes. I wanted to hear what He had to say about the scenario.

As we prayed, the Lord spoke something to me that I made sure to jot down immediately after the prayers were done. In that room, I was asked a few questions… What would the apostles do? what does the Bible say about situations like these? or rather is there a word for you in these times or has God also been caught off-guard?

These are very serious confrontational questions, I call them the true reality checks. I got to ask myself if my life were recorded, would it encourage anyone? My entire approach and attitude in these times, would it touch anyone? Would it spring up faith in the hearers? Would it be apostle-like? Would it be Word-like? Am I behaving like a believer in Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God? Would the brethren that went before me congratulate me upon arrival in Heaven for my commendable conduct, attitude, and faith in these trying times? and so on.

To say the least, the modern church, of which I am part, is underperforming and remarkably underwhelming. It is too passive and casual and unintentional. And the fruit of all this is? We are living far below our privileges.

We ought to put intentional effort into living the Legacy of our forerunners. That ought to be the Legacy we also leave behind. We are meant to be a living legacy. Revered and respected by all. A spectacle to behold. A true testament to the fact that God Almighty lives on the inside of us.

We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, let us, therefore, walk in their steps and be sure not to lower the bar from whence they set it. Let us at least live as they did and purpose to live a life worthy of the Legacy that was left us. I wanna do something about that, in my life and also inspire one more person to work towards the same.

I started this blog to primarily share all about living within our privileges, which we are granted by the Sacrifice of the Lamb of God. I desire that we all live in accordance with The Legacy of the Children of God. Amen.
